Zeer lezenswaardig interview met Yuval Noah Harari uit april:
“Whenever you increase surveillance of the citizens, it should always go hand-in-hand with increased surveillance of the government. If a government is so eager to have more surveillance, the surveillance should go both ways. And if the government says, hey, it's too complicated, we can't just open all the financial transactions, then you say: "No it's not too complicated. The same way you can create a huge surveillance system to see where I go every day, it should be as easy to create a system that shows what you are doing with my tax money."
"Dat lijkt me redelijk. Alle beslissingen die we nu nemen, hebben allerhande potentiële gevolgen voor de toekomst van onze kinderen. Het is niet omdat een autoritaire staat zich nu niet stelt dat het daarom wel verstandig zou zijn het pad daarnaartoe te vereffenen.
