The previously announced party renewal by Egbert Lachaert (following the extremely poor poll results for Open VLD just over a week ago) will not materialize. His intended 10-point plan will also not come to fruition. He resigned on June 28, 2023. In early September, he will leave his burned-out chairman's seat behind and return to Parliament, where he will primarily focus on irrelevant matters.
