THE KISS OF VENUS AND JUPITER: OPTICAL ILLUSION

MSM have been very sparse with the footage of this special event. The so-called kiss of Venus and Jupiter is actually a conjuction in which Earth, Venus and Jupiter aligned. Amateur footage provides a better image ( see video ).

Both planets appear to be close to each other and also about the same size.

The reality, however, is different.

With a diameter of 12,104 km is Venus about the same size as Earth. It reportedly takes 243 days for 1 rotation around its own axis and 225 days for 1 rotation around the sun. The shortest distance to earth is 41 million kilometers. Its longest distance is reportedly 261 million kilometers. For this reason, we sometimes see Venus very well and sometimes not at all.

Jupiter is a different story. This planet is the 5th largest planet. With a circumference of 439,263.8 km, it is 1321 times the size of Earth. It takes 11.86 years for 1 rotation around the sun. The shortest distance to earth is 588 million kilometers and its longest distance 968 million kilometers.

At the time of the "kiss", Venus and Jupiter were 547 million kilometers apart. That's why Jupiter looked the same size as Venus.

And now a small think-through : the moon is on average 363,000 to 405,000 kilometers from Earth. When the moon is furthest from Earth, we see above our heads a volume equal to a 2 euro coin. What would you see if this 2 euro coin is a hundred times smaller ? Would you see anything at all ?

In the hypothesis that Jupiter is 1381 x as big as earth, its circumference should cover 55.24 million kilometer it is only 439,263.8 km or almost 11x as much.

Are NASA's data correct ? Or are they all fabrications ?

Besides, is it normal that Venus and Jupiter are fully illuminated over their entire surface ? Also observe the reflections on the planet Venus ( on the right ).
