Our small country is just a tiny speck on the world map. With a surface area of barely 30,528 km2 , Belgium belongs to the category of the smallest nations in the world, yet here we have 6 parliaments, 6 governments (1 federal and 5 devolved governments) and 3 national languages: Dutch, French and German, which are jointly governed by the 1966 language law, which determines the official languages of the country.
