Belgium purchased Remdesivir for €12 million. The drug was reportedly not used in hospitals but " donated" to African countries after delivery, but whether this information is correct is not known with certainty until further notice.
The Vivaldi government faced a €22 billion budget deficit in 2022. But throwing 12 million euros down the drain for a lethal drug that was not destroyed but passed on to a third world country was no problem.
