A 70-car train carrying hazardous materials derailed around 1 a.m. on the night of Sunday to Monday in Richland County, North Dakota. about a mile from Wyndmere. 31 of 70 cars were filled with hazardous chemicals used in making asphalt.
No injuries were reported. Evacuation crews that the chemicals will turn into a gel due to the cold weather so they can be easily cleared.
The same day, a train also went off the tracks in Washington, leaking 12,000 gallons of diesel.
