NETHERLANDS : COUNCIL OF STATE APPROVES PROJECT OF CO2 STORAGE IN NORTH SEA

The Council of State has given the green light for mega-project Porthos, in which CO2 will be stored in the North Sea via pipelines under the port of Rotterdam. The highest administrative court recognizes that there will be burdensome nitrogen emissions, but these will be temporary and limited and will not have a major impact on natural areas.
