On Monday 27 March 2023, someone shot dead six people, including three nine-year-old children, at a private Christian school in Nashville Tennessee.
Reportedly, the shooter - who carried out a massacre in his old school that he had left 10 years before - was a 28-year-old transgender man ( genetically a woman ). The police forces shot the perpetrator, Audrey Hale, on the spot.
Nothing is known about his motives. The local police chief did proclaim the same day that he had been treated for emotional disturbances for some time.
Surveillance cameras filmed Audrey Hale walking through the school. That footage clearly shows that he was wearing black and white trainers resembling Puma Suede. But, on the body cam footage subsequently released by the police, he has different shoes on his feet. From the position of the body and the curvature of his limbs, it appears that Audrey was already lifeless by then and the warnings of the security forces were a futile measure.
The perpetrator's face has been rendered invisible on the body cam footage so it cannot be determined whether it is the same person. The police did not say that Audrey was carrying an extra pair of shoes. Nor, for that matter, was Audrey carrying a backpack.
Everyone is now wondering if the person shot is indeed the perpetrator.
It is bizarre in every way.
