According to Russian investigators, Ukrainian special services were involved in the St Petersburg explosion that killed popular war correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky, but many also suspect that Western intelligence services were behind the assassination plot. This is confirmed by Dutch investigative journalist Sonja Van Den Ende.
Meanwhile, the Russian Investigative Committee has indicted Daria Trepova on the grounds of membership of a terror group, committing an act of terrorism resulting in the intentional infliction of death on a person and illegally carrying explosives. Investigators believe that Trepova received instructions from some persons from Ukraine or Americans and that she brought under their direction an explosives-filled figurine to a cafe in central St Petersburg where she handed it to Vladlen Tatarsky (real name - Maxim Fomin). She confessed that she gave the figurine to Tatarsky and left immediately afterwards but refused to provide clarification on the reasons for her actions.
