GAS PRICE BREAKS ALL RECORDS

Today, the gas price has risen to €223.85 per Megawatt hour, which is almost 3 times as much as on 15.02.2022 when the price was circulating quite stably around €80 per Megawatt hour.

Energy minister Tine Van Der Straeten yesterday proclaimed on radio news that she has decided to reduce gas consumption in Belgium by 15% while this is not her decision but a decision of Ursula Von Der Leyen, president of the EU Commission. What she did not tell is that several EU member states have refused the requirement to reduce gas consumption by 15%.

The reason is obvious : companies that consume gas during their production process cannot make do with 15% less, any more than families heating their homes with gas during the coming winter. 15% less means irrevocable shortages.
