EMA geeft voorwaardelijke goedkeuring voor Moderna vaccin voor personen vanaf 18 jaar (6.01.2021)
Behalve voor personen met allergieën en immuno gecompromiteerd, zwangere vrouwen, vrouwen die borstvoeding geven.
Europese Commissie moet nog haar fiat geven.
Belgïë heeft al op 11.01.2021 de eerste vaccins ontvangen. Hoeveel vaccins is ( nog ) niet gekend.
Het vaccin van Moderna, naar eigen zeggen, gedurende één jaar bescherming bieden ( na twee injecties ).Daarna zal het eventueel mogelijk zijn om die bescherming te verlengen met een nieuw spuitje, een soort boost.
Relevante info uit EMA protocol : " COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna is given as two injections into the arm, 28 days apart. The most common side effects with COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna were usually mild or moderate and got better within a few days after vaccination. The most common side effects are pain and swelling at the injection site, tiredness, chills, fever, swollen or tender lymph nodes under the arm, headache, muscle and joint pain, nausea and vomiting. The safety and effectiveness of the vaccine will continue to be monitored as it is used across the EU, through the EU pharmacovigilance system and additional studies by the company and by European authorities."
"Allergic reactions (hypersensitivity) have been seen in people receiving the vaccine. A very small number of cases of anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction) have occurred. Therefore, as for all vaccines, COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna should be given under close medical supervision, with the appropriate medical treatment available in case of allergic reactions. People who have a severe allergic reaction when they are given the first dose of COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna should not receive the second dose.
