As previously announced, China's Foreign Ministry has proposed "peace plan" consisting of 12 points.
▪️Respect for the sovereignty of all countries.
▪️ abandon Cold War mentality.
▪️cessation of hostilities.
▪️ Resuming peace talks.
▪️humanitarian crisis resolution.
▪️protecting civilians and prisoners of war.
▪️ensuring safety of nuclear power plants.
▪️reducing strategic risks.
▪️promoting grain exports.
▪ ending of unilateral sanctions.
▪️supporting the stability of industrial chains and supply chains.
▪️promote post-war reconstruction.
China also stresses that it is of utmost importance to support the mutual efforts of Moscow and Kiev for an early restoration of direct communications, the gradual reduction of tensions and the complete cessation of hostilities.... The use of nuclear weapons along this or any other side is totally unacceptable.
Stoltenberg ( NATO ) and Ursula Von Der Leyen ( EU Commission ) responded immediately and organised a press conference.
Stoltenberg stated that there is not much confidence in China.
Ursula in turn stated that the EU will study the Chinese Peace Plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine against the background of China's friendship with the Russian Federation.
The speech by the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on 23 February 2023 will surely also have something to do with Stoltenberg and Von der Leyen shooting down the Peace Plan before they have even looked at it properly.
During this speech, the US and Nato were heavy handed and stressed friendship ties with Russia.
