It's official. Fauci ( 82 ) is leaving. He is finally retiring. He submitted his resignation back in December 2022 but did not deliver his farewell speech until 20 January 2023.
His employer, the NIH (National Institute of Allergy and infectious Diseases ), hails him as someone who has served medical science for 54 years. fought infectious diseases and promoted public health.
Fauci started his career at the NIH in 1968 as a clinical assistant. He was gradually able to climb the ladder to National Director, position he held from 1984 to 2022.
Of course, not a word is said about his corrupt practices and the many times the man has been discredited.
Fauci's former assistant, Hugh Auchincloss, is replacing him as NIH national director for the time being. There is much speculation about a possible successor that will have to be voted on first in the Senate Health Committee and then in the plenary of the full Senate.
