BRAZIL : THE COMBAT OF THE PEOPLE AGAINST CORRUPTION

Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva ( popularly known as Lula ) was President of Brazil from 2003 to 2011. In 2011, he was compromised by several corruption scandals that left him with no choice but to resign.

He appointed himself Dilma Rouseff, his former Chief of Staff as his successor.

Lula was criminally prosecuted. To escape his prosecution, Dilma tried to appoint him as minister so that he could enjoy immunity but the people opposed fermly. They protested for weeks against Lula's appointment as minister. It eventually costed Dilma's head as she too had dirty hands. Her attempts to evoke the pity of the people by widely spreading in the press that she was suffering from cancer failed and increased the anger of the population even more when it turned out that her story was more fake than anything else.

In 2016, Dilma Rouseff was accused of deceit, budget fraud as well as corruption and removed from office by 81 votes to 20 following impeachment proceedings. She was temporarily replaced by Michel Temer, a man who was also not of impeccable character and equally suspected of corruption but as long as he was deputy head of state he could not face criminal charges.

In 2017, both Lula and Dilma were formally charged with criminal organisation.

In 2018, Lula was sentenced to 12 years of prison. That is not neglectible. He effectively served 1.5 years of that sentence in jail. In 2019, he was released under conditions.

In October 2018, Jair Bolsonare was elected new president by the people with 55.1% of the votes. He had vowed to the people that he would kick corruption out of the country. His leftist rival Fernando Haddad obtained only 44.8% of the votes. Bolsonaro's election did not go down well with the world press, who portrayed him as "a far-right, pro-gun, pro-torture populist".

Bolsonaro has kept his word. He has kicked rock hard at the shins of the elite. He also opposed to the Covid narrative and openly proclaimed that he would not follow the vaccination protocol. So ... what did they do? What they always do. They staged riots against Bolsonaro's policies. When it turned out that this did not help, they conjured Lula back out of their pockets.

In June 2021, the Supreme Court annulled two new legal procedures against Lula and invalidated all evidence gathered by Judge Moro, allowing Lula to participate in the elections in November 2022.

In October 2022, Lula was re-elected president. Bolsonaro immediately announced that the elections had been rigged. Where else have we seen that ?

Since these elections, there have been ongoing protest marches and riots across the country. The people do not accept the appointment of the corrupt Lula.

Today the people are protesting for the 70th day in a row. The world press is silent on this in all languages. Why aren't they doing their job ?

The painful truth is always hushed up and the facts twisted to fit their stall.
