DIESEL AND PETROL CAR SALES IN EU COLLAPSE

The European car industry has been struggling with major production problems since the end of 2020, which have continued into 2021.

Indeed, many electronics components and parts such as chips and processors are manufactured in China. Lockdowns and ongoing mandatory quarantines have caused a major delay in the delivery of these components as early as 2020, bringing the production process to a halt at most car and motorcycle manufacturers. Vehicles are just about ready but cannot be delivered because a certain chip, processor or other essential component is not available.

Those who ordered a car or motorcycle in 2021 have long known. The waiting time averages 1 to even 1.5 years.

Since the beginning of this year, the WEF, Ursula & co and ministers of member states have shifted up a gear. In March, the EU imposed a raft of sanctions on Russia including the exclusion of the SWIFT payment system and the freezing of all Russian foreign accounts.

The sanctions are not working at all ... but the counter-sanctions Russia has taken against the ' unfriendly countries " hit the EU in the heart. There is a shortage of gas and oil and we are all feeling it in our pockets. Prices at the pump have gone through the roof and will continue to rise.

How do Klaus and Ursula intend to solve the oil shortage ?

Simple. Buy an electric car. That's also good for the climate. That the manufacture of an electric vehicle causes more Co2 emissions than a diesel car during its entire lifetime is irrelevant. That there is not enough electricity to supply households, let alone to provide gravy for an increasing number of electric cars, is also just a negligible detail.

The car industry is now saddled with a double problem. Sales of diesel and petrol cars have collapsed.

Diesel cars : - 22;2% ( compared to last year )

Petrol : - 27.7% ( idem )

Hybrid vehicles which provide subsidies and/or tax breaks in numerous countries : - 2;2% with the exception of Italy and Germany where sales are plummeting

Many EU citizens have ordered all-electric cars in the past 12 months but.... those are packed with electronics that are missing from the market. Waiting times of indefinite duration. They don't know when.

With high inflation and rising prices of basic services and food, many families are falling into poverty. Buying a new car is out of the question. There is no budget for that. The available pennies now mainly serve to pay for gas and electricity costs and household expenses. They keep bulldozing their old cart until it disintegrates. How good this is for the climate is a worry for later.

The car industry is in trouble and those who set themselves up as leaders will have known it.
