USA CLAIMS IMMUNITY IN MK-ULTRA CASE BEFORE COURT OF QUEBEC (CANADA)

A class action lawsuit in damages has been filed in Canada for infamous " mind control" experiments at a Montreal psychiatric hospital. The case was heard before Quebec's highest court last Thursday, 30 March. The victims sought to lift the immunity claimed and obtained by the US government.
The US government successfully argued before the Quebec Superior Court in August 2022 that the country could not be sued for the project known as MK-ULTRA, which was allegedly funded by the Canadian government and the CIA. US lawyers argued that foreign states had absolute immunity from lawsuits in Canada between the 1940s and 1960s, when the program took place.
But survivors (and their families) of the experiments at the Allan Memorial Institute in Montreal - including experimental drugs, electroshock and sleep deprivation - appealed that decision.
The lawsuit is a continuation of a class action lawsuit that had been filed against McGill University - which was affiliated with the psychiatric hospital - Montreal's Royal Victoria Hospital and the Canadian and US governments after Montrealers' memories were allegedly erased and they were reduced to a childlike state.
Lawyer Jeff Orenstein said he believes Canada's State Immunity Act of 1982, which sets out how foreign states can be sued in the country, applies retroactively to this case and the USA can indeed be sued in cases of bodily injury.
"But this took place in the 1950s and 1960s," Orenstein told reporters, referring to the psychological experiments. "And so the exception was not in force during that period, so (the US) argued that the old law would prevail and the old law was absolute immunity."
How the process will end remains an open question. Most interestingly, though, is the fact that the USA no longer denies that it had MK ULTRA. Until further notice, that admission is limited to the 1950s-60s while there is a plethora of indications that it continues to use the technique of brainwashing, memory erasure and hypnosis unabated to this day. Much of Hollywood is reportedly under the influence of MK Ultra.
