STATE OF EMERGENCY IN PHILADELPHIA DUE TO LEAK OF HEAVY CHEMICALS INTO RIVER

Philadelphia Residents are in a state of high alert and urged to use bottled water after a major chemical leak affecting Philadelphia's water supply. Last Friday, about 50,000 gallons of a hazardous latex derivative leaked into the Delaware River. More details on the how, what and why are not yet known.

The Delaware River is a major river in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Its total length (including the longest branch) is about 405 miles (650 km), and the river drains an area of 11,440 square miles (29,630 square km). The river partially forms the border between Pennsylvania and New York, the border between New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and, for a few miles, the border between Delaware and New Jersey. The course of the river is mainly southward. Philadelphia lies to the north. Chemical contamination threatens to affect other states as well.

Chemical " accidents " have been commonplace in the United States in recent months. This can no longer be a coincidence.
